Danielle - Leeds tutor
Information About Danielle:
Personal Description:
Originally from Jersey in the Channel Islands, I graduated from Leeds College of Music in Summer 2009 with a degree in Popular Music Studies. I have been singing since the age of 13 with experience in a range of vocal styles including musical theatre, classical and popular music. I took my Grade 8 Singing exam when I was 17 and have also completed my Grade 5 Theory. I am also able to accompany myself on piano. My true passion is for writing and performing my own music.
Teaching Experience:
One of the modules for my degree incorporated a teaching placement where I taught at a school near Keighley, leading a choir with the help of two other singers. I also taught a group of students the songs for a school performance during my A Levels.
As part of the Project Trident scheme at school, I volunteered to assist a Year 1 class on a monday afternoon where they focused on creative subjects such as Art and Music. At times I also aided younger students with their reading and writing skills during school lunch breaks.
Over the past year I have assisted on music workshops at schools in Yorkshire and most recently spent a day with students looking around the projects at Expo Leeds (an exhibition of sound art that was at different locations around the city).
Tutoring Approach:
I am primarily available for vocal tutoring. I offer half or full hour lessons. I teach from home or I can teach from your home, however this would mean you will need to cover the cost of my travel (the price of a return bus/train fare). I am willing to teach in a range of styles and at a level and pace to suit you.
I am also happy to provide Maths and Reading & Writing tutoring as I achieved 9 high GCSE grades (including Maths, English and Science) and I am confident in tutoring both to a high level. I aim to create an enjoyable atmosphere when teaching, using creative methods to make the subjects a student may find tedious, more interesting to learn.
Please do not hesitate to contact me with any queries or for further details.
