Personal Description:

I am an experienced performer and teacher providing lessons in practical musicianship and music theory in coherent, structured lessons, working at your own pace. I have taught woodwind for several years, and perform as a soloist and as part of ensembles and bands.
I am currently acting as head of a growing music centre in Leeds.
I can provide lessons from complete beginners to professional/diploma standard. We can work towards ABRSM/Trinity/LCM exams, GCSE/A level music examinations or just for fun.

All styles or genres of music can be taught- Jazz, Classical, Contemporary, Pop, Ska, Musicals, klezmer etc.

I can provide lessons at your home or mine in north leeds, and can give advice on instrument purchase.

I am a CRB checked teacher.

Teaching Experience:

I have taught music to pupils with a range of abilities and backgrounds, including those with physical disabilities, dyslexia and SEN status. I have also taught gifted and talented pupils, and students who are beyond grade 8 ability.

I can also teach aural development, harmony and counterpoint, history of music and music appreciation.

I currently have a 100% pass rate with ABRSM.

Tutoring Approach:

I have a variety of approaches to music tuition, and vary my teaching to match the individual.

My lessons will usually comprise a variety of structured tasks, some independent work and some homework.

I teach English in a very structured, traditional way, so get the best results possible.
