Anne - Cardiff tutor
Information About Anne:
Personal Description:
I am in the final year of a PhD in Neuroscience. I am incredibly enthusiastic about Neuroscience and Human Biology and in particular I am looking at the role of schizophrenia susceptibility genes in long-term memory. I'm 26. I organise neuroscience cafe's to explain neuroscience topics to people not studying biology at Cardiff University.
Teaching Experience:
I have completed a month long course on how to teach English as a second language and I have taught A-level biology in a secondary school in Kenya for 1 month. I have also taught three students at university undergraduate level for their biology laboratory based dissertation projects.
Tutoring Approach:
I will either work through particular chapters in school text books or alternatively tailor classes according to topics or general concepts that the tutee is interested in learning about from scratch or is having difficulty understanding. I always like to place new concepts in the bigger picture to maintain interest.
In particular I can do lessons on how the brain works (as far we know so far!) for tutees of any age or any previous level of biological knowledge.
Subjects Taught:
Qualifications:
- CELTA teaching certificate
- Biology (Honours in Neuroscience) degree 2i
