Personal Description:
I am a Principal Lecturer in Chemistry and former Head of Department of Science at an Higher Education Institution in Nigeria. I have a number of Publications in Academic Journals and currently a postgraduate researcher, PhD year 3 in Analytical Chemistry at the Nottingham Trent University.
Teaching Experience:
Taught undergraduate students in chemistry modules at a Polytechnic in Nigeria for over 16 years and have also supervised a number of student independent projects during the period, before coming to UK for further studies. I equally have experience in tutoring Biology in GSCE classes for about 3 years (being the first minor subject in my University Training).
Tutoring Approach:
My approach to teaching is student-centered learning activity, starting from identifying the unknown and proffer solution in an interactive way without losing sight of the relevant teaching/learning goals and outcomes. Recognising the knowledge gap of learners with adequate support, encouragement and guidance; it would lead to desire objectives and results. With hardwork and right attitudes; learning is automatic and interesting. My experiece in handling and improving students' learning skills in chemistry is very adequate.
