Katie - Southsea tutor

Information About Katie:

Personal Description:

An enthusiastic, committed graduate from the University of Reading, I enjoyed studying Theatre Arts, Education and Deaf Studies. To my advantage, having passed my 11+ and having attended a Grammar School, I also have studied a wise range of subjects at GCSE and A level giving me knowledge in a range of areas. I aim to broaden my teaching experience and go on to study a PGCE to qualify as a secondary school/sixth form level teacher of Drama. I have exceptional communication skills and pride myself in being both efficient and hardworking.

Teaching Experience:

I have been a Teaching Assistant to both Primary and Secondary age groups as well as working with children with SEN. I have also worked supporting students learning Maths and English at a study group, where I taught and marked work. I have been a Home Tutor previously teaching French GCSE.

Tutoring Approach:

I belive in making teaching interesting, to engage with my students and to set realistic and acheivable goals. Clear communication is a must, alongside patience and an honest approach. Alongside goals set academically I like to encourage key skills such as participation, questioning and debate. Every student is an individual, which is reflected through my work, as each student will receive tailor made lessons exclusive for their needs.
