Rebekah - Dudley tutor
Information About Rebekah:
Personal Description:
I am currently a second year Maths student at the University of Birmingham. Maths has always been a big passion in my life and I really enjoy working with children and helping them realise what an enjoyable subject Maths can be. It was partly due to my Maths skills that I gained a place in the National Academy for Gifted and Talented Youths at the age of 13 and I am particularly proud of my result of 100% in my Higher Maths GCSE.
Teaching Experience:
I have been tutoring primary school children for three years now and my input has seen many of my pupils improve by a whole SAT level. My first GCSE pupil has recently taken her first exam and achieved two grades above her target. I feel the fact that I was in their position not so long ago really helps me present the subject to my students in a way they will understand. Furthermore, I myself was privately tutored for five years so I picked up a lot of tips and advice from that experience.
Tutoring Approach:
Typically I like my lessons to consist of around twenty minutes of games and activies that require students to apply what they have learnt to a slightly more fun situation than that usually seen in exam papers. However, when it comes to exam revision nothing is more successful than intensive practice with past exam papers, of which I have an extensive library of. This said, every student is different and I like to tailor my lesson plans to suit the individual.
