Personal Description:
I am a young individual who has decided to teach recreationally rather than at school. I prefer working one-to-one with students or in smaller groups rather than large classes. I am outgoing, confident and enjoy learning. My hobbies include backpacking, travelling, driving, listening to music, reading and socializing.
Teaching Experience:
I enrolled onto the PGCE Secondary Mathematics course this year with Cambridge University. However, after successfully completing two terms, I decided that I did not want to teach in schools full time and I am now eager to pursue a different career and tutor in my spare time. However, the PGCE experience is useful since I have attended professional teaching and education tutorials and I have spent lots of time in schools both teaching and observing. With my previous volunteering experience at school (an afternoon a week for 2 years whilst working through my Maths and Stats degree), I am now confident with my own teaching style and helping individuals with their learning.
Tutoring Approach:
An emphasis on understanding the work/topic is crucial since it helps both enjoyment in the subject and will help overall with examination success. I am a meticulous and patient individual who enjoys learning and teaching, and I attempt to make it as fun as possible by using different activities to aid learning. These activities are always educationally rich and by varying my approach, tutoring lessons shouldn't become stale. I work hard to achieve success.
