Information About Alexandra:


Personal Description:

I am a 30 year old professional musician and teacher. I have played in many of the leading British orchestras, and have taught the violin and the viola for many years. I also studied music up to A-level, so I would be happy to give tutoring for those studying music as an academic subject, and those studying for theory exams.

I spent the last year in South America playing in an orchestra and learning Spanish, speaking with and interacting with Spanish speakers on a daily basis.



Teaching Experience:

I have been teaching privately and in several London schools since 2003, my longest-running post being at St James Independent School in Kensington, London, for four years.

I have given private lessons in Spanish since returning from South America.



Tutoring Approach:

With instrumental teaching I take each student as they come, and can help them towards a chosen goal, or complement previous or concurrent instrumental learning.

With academic music I will support school learning, or build on skills previously learned.

With Spanish I can teach from beginner level whether it is being supported by current or previous study or not.
