Louise - Gateshead tutor

Information About Louise:

Personal Description:

I am an Australian Teacher with 5 years experience back home and 6 months with the UK curriculum. I am currently working at Tyne and Wear Museums and would like to continue tutoring as I find teaching and tutoring highly rewarding.

I am trained to teach at secondary and college level, but have enjoyed working with primary students in the past, too.

Teaching Experience:

2003 - Georges River Environmental Education Cenre, Sydney AUSTRALIA
2004-2005 - St Johns College, Dubbo, NSW AUSTRALIA
2007 - St Vincents College, Sydney AUSTRALIA
2008 - King Harold School, Waltham Abbey UK
2001 - 2007 - Various tutoring posts in Sydney and Dubbo AUSTRALIA

Tutoring Approach:

I like to consult with the student and parents about what their learning goals/needs are. What can we try to achieve through the tutoring sessions. Then we plan out a timetable of what to cover. These can be 4 - 10 week plans which are evaluated at the end.

I make sure the student's learning style is catered for and encourage them every step of the way. I maintain a particular focus on skills. For example in History we would look at source analysis skills, ways to interpret any source, so that students can apply this in any situation.
