Craig - Northampton tutor

Information About Craig:

Personal Description:

I am currently a PhD student at the University of Cranfield. Last year I completed a MSc in Biodiversity Conservation at the University of Oxford. I completed my undergraduate at the University of Edinburgh, where I studied Biochemistry. I lived in Japan for two years. After that I travelled and volunteered in Eastern Europe, North America and Peru before coming to Oxford for my current course of studies.

Teaching Experience:

I have about 6 months experience of tutoring a student for A level Biology. I taught English in Japan for two years. For those two years I taught all ages from kindergarten to junior high school. I also ran three English conversation clubs and coached student for English speech and story telling competitions. As part of my duties at the primary school I created and developed the English curriculum. I also have volunteered in India and Peru teaching English to Adults and primary school children. I have experience teaching many age groups and diverse cultural backgrounds.

Tutoring Approach:

In Japan I gave students one to one coaching for speech contests, ran English clubs that ranged from two to ten students and also gave lessons to two special needs students. I am patient and believe in active learning. I will engage my student through activities and encourage the student to think for themselves so that they can truly learn. I have also lots of recent experience in revising for exams (I achieved 5 grade A Highers and a 1st class Honours degree) and can impart those all important revision and exam techniques.
