Sascha - Brighton tutor
Information About Sascha:
Personal Description:
I'm a professional actress and dancer and am also joint manager of the Marlborough Regency Theatre, Brighton. I have always believed that education experienced at its best can make a HUGE impact on one's life and if you are taught with enthusiasm, passion and the lessons are tailored in the most accessible way, then you can be whatever you want to be!
I loved acting (especially William Shakespeare!), english literature, poetry and dance from an early age and relished every opportunity that came my way to enhance my experience and learning. That passion came about from watching The Wizard of Oz on stage at the age of 6 and it has never left me. I was very lucky to have amazing teachers and mentors along the way and where I am in my life now, I want to share my enthusiasm and experiences to help others achieve their dreams and ambitions!
I have been a professional performer since 2005 and a teacher since 2007. I am also a published poet.
Teaching Experience:
Since 2007, I have been teaching for Act Too Stage Academy at all 3 venues and am currently working towards opening a Brighton Act Too. I specialise in Shakespeare and the majority of the classical plays as well as some modern plays, improvisation and dance. Dance styles include ballet, modern, jazz, bellydance (suitable for both male and female and all ages), gypsy flamenco, bollywood and bhangra.
In 2008, I set up my own dance classes, which are ongoing.
In the 5th and 6th forms of St Dunstan's Abbey School for Girls (Plymouth, Devon), because of my way with children, I was called upon to help with the reading and writing skills in the junior schools as well as lunchtime drama clubs and helped direct many school productions. Part of my university degree entailed Theatre In Education, encompassing schools throughout the West-Country. This was further continued at Stage School in central London schools.
Tutoring Approach:
My approach is very much tailored to the individual's needs. I aim to generate interest in the subject by making my lessons fun, accessible and interesting in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, rather than stiff and formal.
