Information About Marnie:


Personal Description:

I am a student at the University of York, reading English and Politics.
I am hardworking, as can be seen in my 4 As at A-Level, and gentle but firm in my approach to teaching and learning.
My hobbies include books and cinema, and spending time with my friends.



Teaching Experience:

I have been teaching several young children English and Maths for the past three years, including teaching a young German girl to speak English.

References from previous clients are available if required.



Tutoring Approach:

I believe the most important part of tutoring is not only understanding the level that the child is at, and encouraging them to surpass this, but also providing an opportunity to explore the subject in interesting and different ways.
Each lesson would be prepared beforehand, once I had discussed with the child and parent areas that needed to be worked on.
Feedback would be provided to the parent and/or child at the end of each session.

Qualifications:

  • GCSE: 7 Grade A*s and 3 Grade As, incl. English, English Literature, Maths, History, Geography, Chemistry and Physics, amongst others.
  • A-Level: 4 Grade 'A's, in English Literature, Mathematics, Physics and Politics.
  • AEA: High distinction in English
