Information About Helen:


Personal Description:

I completed a B.A with Qualified Teacher Status ( 4 year course ), at Warwick University, specialising in English and Religious Studies.
I teach on a part - time basis now in Tamworth and have done so for the past 8 years since having my daughter.
I am 43 years old.
I enjoy reading ( lots), listening to music, swimming and badminton.



Teaching Experience:

I have taught for 18 years in the Primary sector, both Key Stage One and Two, teaching all National Curriculum subjects. I have also worked in a special school in an autistic unit. I currently teach at a secondary Short Stay School, teaching Maths and English.



Tutoring Approach:

I believe a semi autonomous approach to education which utilises a students own interest in the subject to increase professional knowledge and competence, while reducing the rigidity of a formal teaching pattern. While these doctrines are an intrinsically personal belief in teaching methods, I am aware of individual learning styles and sessions will be tailored to the individual and their desired goals/ needs.
