Luay - Buxton tutor

Information About Luay:

Personal Description:

After graduating with a Maths degree and gaining my PGCE I went into secondary school teaching for 10 years. After that I moved into Further Education and got very involved in teaching adults who were returning to education. Eventually I ended up managing a large department which, unfortunately took me away from to some extent from my first love - maths! I recently decided to combine my tutoring for the Open University with other part time consultancy and tutoring work.

Teaching Experience:

Over 25 years teaching maths at all levels including A Level, Open University, school and college. Both young people and adults. I am up to date with most syllabuses and have some good resources that tutees may be able to borrow. I am also familiar with the increasingly popular International Baccalaureate syllabus at standard and higher levels. I have also marked external examination papers and have done many hundreds of one-to-one tutorials.
I have current CRB clearance.

Tutoring Approach:

The best way to get the most out of me is to be clear about what you need help with. Bring examples of questions you found difficult or wobbly about - that will help me identify how I can help quickly.
It is also important that you follow through from one tutorial to the next with the questions I give you to do - the amount is negotiable as I know the pressure you may be under with other subjects!
