Personal Description:
Hello, my name is Jennie Harding. I live in West Molesey in Surrey and I'm looking to expand my private teaching practice in areas reasonably local to where I live. I am 49 years old with a long history of teaching [18 years in the adult edcation sector] and a passion for inspiring those I teach with enthusiasm for their subject. I am also an author of published books on different aspects of natural health and well-being.
Teaching Experience:
My BA degree is in French [First Class, Royal Holloway College, London University 1982] I've been an adult education tutor for 18 years. I've taught a variety of subjects including health and well-being, stress management, complementary therapies as well as conversational French and English [as a foreign language]. I also have a lot of experience dealing with non-English learners, especially in coaching to help with speaking and studying in English.
Tutoring Approach:
One-to-one, I try and develop a series of lessons to reflect the level and interests of the learner. This involves one or two investigative lessons to begin with, allowing me to guage the proficiency of the learner and where they need to make progress. I believe in reviews, revision and also homework! The study programme also needs to work around interesting material that will engage the learner, which is why I take time to assess personal interests as well as ability.
