Teaching Experience:
I am a native Russian speaker with almost 6 years experience in teaching Russian as a foreign language in Russia(in University of Voronezh, Russia, 4 years) and here in the UK(in the Russian Language Centre, 3years). I teach Russian to students with various objectives and at all levels, including preparation for different exams.
Tutoring Approach:
I work with a large number of individual and group students, at levels ranging from beginner to post-graduate. So of course I vary what I do to suit the requirements of each student.
From the outset I speak as much Russian during a lesson as possible. But I also think a strong grammatical foundation is important. Without it, you will find it very difficult to progress beyond 'phrase-book' Russian, where you can communicate in only a few set situations - with little chance of understanding the response. I practical models to illustrate grammar in action. In this way - through clear explanation and useful models - you will develop a sound understanding of how Russian works, based on language you can use immediately.
