Personal Description:

I'm a recent University of Leeds graduate, getting a good degree which combined areas of Politics & History. I've tutored a number of people over the last two years, all of whom saw dramatic increases in both understanding of the subject and exam grades.

I will be studying for a Masters degree in Political Philosophy next year.

Teaching Experience:

I have experience in both private tutoring and teaching in a classroom based setting. Every pupil I have tutored has seen significant increases in performance: Most recently I have seen an increase from a C grade to an A grade, and an increase from a U/E grade to a B/C. I hope these results speak for themselves.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe the most important thing for a tutor to do is to engage through discussion. That is why, in my tutoring sessions, the majority of time is spent discussing topics relevant to the qualification. Through this method, the tutee can dramatically further his/her understanding of the subject, in a way which is difficult to achieve in the classroom.

To complement this discussion, I like to provide handbooks, relevant to syllabus requirements, to provide direction to the engaged conversation. I believe through discussing each topic in turn, with notes provided, a fuller understanding of the subject can be achieved.
