Information About Thomas:

Personal Description:

I graduated from the University of Cambridge with a degree in Classics, I have a Law Conversion and am now living in South East London working in economic research, alongside an early career as an actor.

I have worked part-time as a tutor for several years, teaching particularly Maths and Classics for ages between 8 and 21.

Teaching Experience:

I have 8 years of tutoring experience in Maths, Latin and Greek. I have experience teaching 8-11 early numeracy/literacy skills aiming towards 11+, 12-13 year old scholarship preparation, GCSEs, A-Levels, University entrance, University level and adult private interest.

I teach Classics to any level and Maths up to and including Further Maths and University Entrance Level.

Tutoring Approach:

I hope to be seen as affable, humourous and very patient and I try to create a comfortable atmosphere in all my lessons and I feel I'm quite good at adapting my style for the different needs of different pupils. When a student is afraid of their subject, I can work calmly to build their confidence; when they struggle for self-motivation, I can provide them with the kick of enthusiasm they need; when they simply have poor teaching at school, I hope I can prove that I can get them where they need to be.
