Personal Description:
I am a very relaxed and committed individual who loves to help others succeed. Diverse and cultured background and the ability to be in-touch with folks from all age groups and walks of life. I have had an excellent academic career thus far which I credit to the ability to be flexible with developing one's understanding of things...which is especially important with science subjects ( mathematics is a science folks!)
Teaching Experience:
I have tutored at both advanced and ordinary level before in tutoring academies and privately. My proven subject areas are Chemistry ( up to university level), Physics ( up to A'Level) Biology and Mathematics ( up to ordinary level/GCSE). I vividly recall last September while attending a World music Festival in Knockengorroch (Scotland) giving a biology lesson to a A'Level student who out of the blue asked if I knew any biology ( she claimed I looked like someone who knew a lot) !
Tutoring Approach:
For me the first stage is to chat with the student and understand the weak points ( in their view) and test the fundamental knowledge of the subject area if they are not so new to it. Secondly the parents' needs towards the student( if parents are involved) are heard and we agree on how to proceed. Every student is different and requires a different approach or explanation. Where exams are upcoming working with past papers while reinforcing the fundamental material is the best choice.
