Nathan - Wimbledon tutor
Information About Nathan:
Personal Description:
I am a hard working and dedicated teacher. I currently work full time in a sixth form college in Hampshire. I live in the Wimbledon area and am looking for a bit of extra spending money.
Outside of education I am interested in canoeing and rugby. I occasionally help prepare the coaching clinics at the Twickenham Stoop for Harlequins on a match day. I am also very interested in reading with modern fiction being a particular favourite.
Teaching Experience:
I am now a relatively experienced teacher , having obtained my PGCE in 2006 and my MSc in 2008. I decided to focus upon post-compulsory education and so my teaching qualification is valid for students aged 16 and above (this doesn't mean I am incapable of teaching younger students!)
My results are regularly above national benchmarks and averages. In six years of teaching A-level no student completing my courses has failed.
Tutoring Approach:
I would want to encourage discussion in my tutoring. I would hope that the most successful method of learning is to become engaged in a subject. I like students who have their own ideas and are willing to share them.
However, I would also want to encourage high academic standards. This may involve studying additional resources in an attempt to gain a higher knowledge of the topic.
If my students were preparing for a public exam I would expect them to be working on their exam technique and time management.
