Personal Description:
I am a 42 year old professional teacher and a Welsh National sports coach. I live with my soon to be wife.
Teaching Experience:
I have taught all educational ranges and ages of children successfully having an excellent track record in and out of school. I have been a Head of Mathematics and a Head of Year in schools in Inner London, Cardiff and at present Monmouth. I have taught to SATs, GCSE (all tiers) and A levels in mathematics. I have been an assistant examiner for OCR for the last 5 years and have been asked to examine for Edexcel.
Tutoring Approach:
I have a relaxed approach to tutoring/teaching, trying to generate a good learning environment wherever I am whilst having high expectations as well. I try to bring in other ways of learning so that students are able to remember and understand the work they are attempting. My work with the RI has helped me with this as has my interest in the history of maths.
