Information About Maria:

Personal Description:

I am a fully qualified photography tutor who is always looking for work. I do practice as a self employed professional photographer, specialising in food photography. I have been working in the photographic field for more that 15 years and have gained myself valuable tutoring experiences and photographic jobs. My ambitions are to continue with my photographic business while tutoring on a part time permanent basis within the adult education sector. I would love to complete a masters degree with the aim to gettting a book of photographic arts work published.

Teaching Experience:

I work in adult education, community education and I tutor when there is work in Further education colleges. I have experience of tutoring at Stevenson college, Edinburgh as a foundation Photography tutor as a part time temporary tutor. I have also worked on a number of major projects with children and adults within the Community education sector. This incuded working on a major exhibition, organising a photography association and teaching what I know to those who are less fortunate than ourselves. I am now working in the Community Adult education sector.

Tutoring Approach:

I lead a student centred approach to tutoring. It seems to be the best approach because people find learning easier if they are made to think. Fascilitating discussions during class is also vital as this seems to be when ideas are at there strongest. I like to keep the people involved in what they are doing.
