Personal Description:

I have a very good sense of humour and an open, sunny, resourceful and energetic disposition which has served me well in all aspects of my career.I have many personal qualities and have been told by parents and teachers that I am friendly, fun, non-judgmental, as well as being a good teacher.
I am a trained Reading Recovery teacher and have also trained for two years in Specific Learning Difficulties including Mathematics and English.
I cann assess a pupils and design individual learning plans appropriate for their needs.

Teaching Experience:

I am a qualified Teacher with over thirty years of experience of teaching pupils in all of key stages 1 and 2.
I have also taught Literacy and Numeracy to pupils in key stage 3 and 4.I have great imagination and love challenges and project work to enrich the basic curriculum. Alongside class teaching I have thespian and an artistic interest and have planned and coordinated a six week course on fashion design for a year six class after S.a.t. s. This involved pupils designing and making their own clothes, logos, t-shirts and bags. They also learnt about the history and economics of fashion design using research skills in preparation for the next stage in their learning. Each pupil produced a portfolio and this culminated with a fashion show for parents and pupils.

Tutoring Approach:

I am an excellent practitioner. My lessons are well planned and the pupil's needs are well catered for appropriately. I display a caring attitude towards my pupils and set up clear boundaries with sound organisational and management skills. I feel children learn well through challenges and experiences and an enriched curriculum.
I am a great believer in learning by assessment and catering my teaching to each child's needs.
I have a wealth of experience using class based assessment and data analysis of Ppits. I also studied a two year course on specific learning difficulties and was trained to use a variety of other assessments including the Aston index, Suffolk, N.f.e.r., numeracy and Ravens intelligence tests.
