Personal Description:
My name is Beata. I have been educated in Poland, but lived and worked in different countries. My deep interest and passion are people, hence my constant desire to travel, discover other cultures and ways the people live. I would describe myself as adventurous but calm, a bit of a dreamer but well organized, demanding and most of all punctual.
Teaching Experience:
Over 15 years of experience as a teacher of English and Polish, having taught young learners, teenagers, students and adults. Teaching General, Business English as a Foreign Language and Polish. I have worked for the best private language schools in Warsaw (Worldwide School of English, Bell School of English), was a tutor for Warsaw College of Business; co-operated with Cambridge University Press regarding the selection of educational materials for the Polish market. Held Director of Studies post for a number of years, running an educational centre, writing and monitoring educational programmes, teaching and translating.
I have also got considerable experience in teaching Special Needs children. This is what I do at present, working mainly in London and Hertfordshire, teaching English and Maths to students with Social, Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties.
Tutoring Approach:
Tutoring is like holistic medicine. The tutor needs to get to the bottom of things, learn the student first, identify the best approach to his mind and heart and apply the knowledge. Methods of teaching are vast, they have been created over the years, successfully or not. I wouldn'd say I'm a devoted believer in one single method. I believe in knowledge as such and in the natural desire of all people to discover and learn new things in life. My job is to make my students realize that and make them believe anything is possible.
