Personal Description:

I am a dedicated and experienced Maths and Science tutor.(GCSE and A Level Maths plus GCSE and A Level Sciences). I focus on each individual that I teach with the view of enabling each of them to achieve their full potential and to remove any barrier to progress. I work hard to keep up to date with ever-changing specifications and expectations of public exams and to collect or prepare resources that match them accurately. I am positive in my approach to life and people, which allows me to create an enthusing learning environment for individual students and for groups. I show empathy and understanding when students struggle with the contents but I have also high expectations and I aim to support them to develop resilience and a strong work ethos.

Teaching Experience:

I have taught in educational establishments for many years and I have been a tutor for the last four years. My lecturing experiences include the University of Southbank, where I prepared students to start their Degree courses and sixth form colleges like BSix, in Hackney, where I taught A levels in Science and Maths. I also taught in schools both in UK and abroad. My teaching experience have given me a good understanding of the British curriculum, including success criteria for public examinations. As a tutor, I have been committed and determined in ensuring the best possible outcomes for those I teach. As a result of my passion and effort, I have seen many of my students building up their confidence and achieve good or excellent grades in their exams.

Tutoring Approach:

Before each session, I work hard to prepare the appropriate resources for the student that I will teach. These include exam questions, practice exercises, revision notes, videos and presentations. When approaching the individual student, I always try to diagnose what barriers are preventing him from improving further and I make sure that the student understands what they need to do and how to do it. Feedback on exam questions is an important part of my tutoring: I want students to reflect on their level of understanding and on their exam strategies. In revising concepts, I explore my student's knowledge and address any gap or misconceptions that they may have built up in their previous study. Students find my sessions enjoyable and helpful
