Information About Teresa:
Personal Description:
My name is Teresa and I am a trainee Educational Psychologist currently studying for a Doctorate in Child, Community and Educational Psychology. I hold a BSc degree in Clinical Psychology and a PGCE teaching qualification specialising in Primary Languages. I also hold MSc Credits in Science. I have experience teaching in mainstream and special educational needs schools with primary school aged children and have worked in Secondary Education settings. I hold a current CRB check.
Teaching Experience:
I am currently a qualified teacher with experience in Early years up to year 6. I have experience tutoring Key Stage 3 students outside of school and University students. I also have a lot of experience with special educational needs. I currently work/study as an Educational Psychologist so have regular contact with children, adolescents and young adults.
Tutoring Approach:
My first step will be to find out exactly what a tutee wants to get from the tutoring and how they best learn. Then we can collaboratively make a timetable and plan that suits both of us. My tutoring style is difficult to describe as it will vary from individual to individual. I always try to make use of resources which support the learning style and will incorporate the child's interests into my lesson plans. I feel that it is important to be flexible and will ask the tutee if there is anything they want me to do differently.
