Daniel - Oxford tutor

Information About Daniel:

Personal Description:

I'm a three-fold graduate of Oxford University: I studied Classics as a first degree, followed by a Masters in Ecclesiastical History, and am now finishing my Doctorate in Early Modern English History. This has given me a wide range of interests and specialist knowledge, as well as an insight into the (sometimes unexpected) connections between classics, history, and theology.

Teaching Experience:

I have done a reasonably large amount of informal tutoring - helping undergraduates prepare for exams or with specific problems. In addition to this, I have also done a smaller amount of teaching for various tutorial colleges, including revision courses for both GCSE and A-Level.

Tutoring Approach:

I am a firm believer that studying solely for examinations is a wasted opportunity. To access the highest levels of analysis, the student must have an appreciation of the wider issues and context, and this is something that I am most keen to encourage. However, that can only come with a firm grasp of the basic principles of any discipline, so that remains a first priority.
