Personal Description:

I am a qualified language teacher who has a flair and passion for modern languages. I believe its very important for children to have a knowledge of a modern language no matter how little. I am dedicated and reliable in everything I do and believe in using varied teaching techniques to aid learning. I am also very liberal and flexible in my teaching. I have taught in various schools as part of my PGCE as well as having tutored a 4year old, 16 year old, adult groups in business. I worked as a foreign language assistant in France in 2004 where I taught English.

Teaching Experience:

I have completed my PGCE in modern languages in June 2007 and through my training, I have taught in a variety of mainstream secondary and primary schools in both England and Northern Ireland. I am familiar with KS2/KS3/GCSE and A Level syllabus and I am willing to use these solely or incorporate them into my teaching. I have also one to one experience with pupils of all ages and also adults. In my teaching I have also taught GCSE Citizenship and currently teach 11-14 Spanish. I have excellent ICT skills.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe that teaching in small groups/individually is the most effective way to learn. Obviously I will assess the students needs and plan accordingly but I am also willing to take requests of lesson content. I use a variety of resources and games to aid remembering grammar and vocabulary and also incorporate the four skills of languages (reading, writing, listening and speaking) into each of my lesson. Each lesson I teach is carefully planned out and flows in a way to capture the students attention at all times and prevent distractions or boredom.

• BA(hons) French and German (June 2005)
