Personal Description:
I am a Scottish university graduate in English Literature with a penchant for Gothic literature and I am in the process of becoming a secondary teacher in English . I left school with an Advanced Higher in English, and it has been my favourite subject for years. I have many interests ranging from film, music and books to fishing, badminton and shopping. I am excited and enthusiastic about teaching, life and hobbies.
Teaching Experience:
I spent my years at secondary being a buddy, and a paired reader - helping younger children with their reading, and at university I often tutored friends about grammar and punctuation. As a teacher myself I have the knowledge, skills and understanding to help you learn the necessary elements for each course and how to pass your exams.
Tutoring Approach:
I am young and enthusiastic with a friendly persona. I am patient and tolerant of mistakes and attitudes, while encouraging and hopeful about progress. I love teaching, and helping others learn - seeing someone 'get it' for the first time is heartening and for me, a really positive experience. I really want to help someone get past the block and develop a real love for English.
