Amy - Nottingham tutor

Information About Amy:

Personal Description:

I graduated from university in 2006 and then went straight to Rome to do my TEFL course, which then led to me being offered a job in Rome straight after the course. I am very patience and understanding of the pressure to learn a new language as i found whilst in Rome. I am also in the process of learning German so i fully sympathise on how difficult it is to learn a new language. I am very fun-loving and i immensely enjoy teaching English, i feel very passionately towards it and i love to really help people to achieve their goals with the language. I am quite active and i love to travel and play many sports, but i also love to unwind with a good book.

Teaching Experience:

I have taught in Rome for 7 months at Wall Street Institute () where i taught business English and general English mainly to adults. I have taught at a summer camp where i was teaching English to children aged 12-17.

Tutoring Approach:

I am a very patient and conscientious teacher, where i can fully understand that learning a language is hard. I have a very open minded approach to teaching and i feel strongly that the best way to learn is through practice and talking, talking, talking. I teach a language with different games and scenarios where i feel this is the best way to practice it as you get a lot of talking done and i also teach grammar in a subtle but effective way. I feel a tutor should be someone who can lead and guide you in the right direction but ultimately you have to put in the work too, i think of myself as more a facilitator than a pushy hard teacher.
