Personal Description:

I am a friendly and outgoing person who enjoys many different things. My biggest love is animals, walking my dog in the New Forest along the lovely beaches in Dorset is perhaps my favourite thing to do. I love cooking, except baking (which I just can't seem to master!). Life to me is to experience new things, ideas and meeting people, which makes my job a wonderful way to explore the world and ideas whilst sitting at a desk!
I am learning Spanish and hope one day to spend a lot more time there, I am also studying a diploma in interior design with the KLC design school.

Teaching Experience:

I have over 16 years' experience teaching English to a wide range of learners, with varying needs & backgrounds.
In the most recent years I have been working with Southampton Football Club & St Mary's Independent School. I currently work with the Under-23 team at Southampton Football Club to prepare them for life in the UK and to pass Cambridge exams, at all levels from PET to CPE.
Whilst working at St Mary's Independent school my role has been two-fold; I have designed and implemented all EAL courses and necessary administration for the secondary school to support KS3 & KS4 students. I have concurrently been teaching literacy to SEN students in KS3 & KS4 working alongside multi-agency bodies to create and maintain IEPs and outline varying courses in support of KS3 & KS4.
I have over 10 years' working with international student in the U.K. and abroad, both adults and children. I have covered all Cambridge exams KET, PET, FCE, CAE, CPE and IELTS.

Tutoring Approach:

I am a dedicated teacher committed to working innovatively and with passion to create a unique learning experience for students.
I aim to create lessons which are unique and tailored for the individual needs of the student. My ethos is to build skills and confidence whilst encouraging the strengths each student has.
I have a very high success rate of students passing 1st time and will provide a detailed study plan alongside the one-to-one tutoring. I encourage students to do time-intensive work such as reading and writing at home, in this way lessons can be dedicated to analysis, feedback and interactive exercises together to ensure time is spent most effectively and at the same time, keeping it budget friendly for the student!
