Personal Description:
I am a recent graduate of Leeds University and an ongoing postgraduate student at Exeter University. Having completed my GCSE'S/ A levels only a short while ago, I am eager to share knowledge/strategies on gaining high grades.

I am keen to stay in Education and I hope to go onto further study at a later stage.

I have a strong interest in the humanities, having studied British Politics, many different aspects of history, Critical theory from a Post Modernist and Analytical/Enlightenment perspective as well as other important philosophical and sociological phenomena. I feel like I can be of real value to any aspiring student in the humanities.

Education is an important part of life, possibly the most crucial component, I will derive great satisfaction from helping people to succeed in their chosen fields and areas. I am sure that through hard work, understanding and clear planning, I can move students towards achieving their desired grade.

I look forward to hearing from potential tutees.

Alex

Teaching Experience:

I have been working in Education professionally for the last 6 or 7 months, predominately as a teaching assistant but also helping struggling students.

During my time, at University I was involved with a charity, which organised English lessons to refugees, this has provided me with a foundation , for further work in Education.

At the moment I am also working towards a Masters and I hope to have this completed before the end of the year. This is enabling me to develop a theoretical approach to Educational issues and allowing to enhance my teaching methodology.

I can provide academic and Educational references upon request.

Tutoring Approach:

I hoping to adopt a flexible, open approach whereby I can be responsive to the needs and requirements of individual students. I am happy to tailor the lessons on a case by case basis.

I am very aware of the stress and anxiety that exams, coursework can cause, I am happy to work closely with students to alleviate any concerns they may have in periods which conflate with any of the above.

Personal Description:
I am a 31 year old female professional, with a First class Honours Psychology degree and full Primary teaching status, as well as specialized experience, skills and knowledge in working with children and young adults with severe learning disabilities.
I am well-traveled and moved to Brighton in the summer of August 2008, to experience life near the sea within the UK. I have also lived in London, Australia and New Zealand.
I practice Hot Yoga and am a keen runner as well as a scuba-diver.

Teaching Experience:

I am in my eighth year as a qualified teacher and have worked within education of young people, particularly those with special needs, since I was 16.
I worked within a nursery over a 3year period, covering sickness and holiday relief, caring for children from all ages between 6months-5 years.
I have taught in all Primary year groups and currently have a Key Stage 1 and 2 class, specializing in Autism. I am up to date on many special needs provisions and have strong behaviour management skills. I am also a middle manager and the lead teacher for Literacy and Numeracy, for students ranging from age 5 to 19 years of age.

Tutoring Approach:

Learning should be enjoyable, interesting and applicable to real-life. Education lacking these elements will not, in my mind, endear itself to young people.
I am fair and consistent and expect high standards from all my students. I will always endeavour to cater for personal needs and to make learning individualized and therefore accessible.
I will not accept laziness but I will accept honesty - if a student finds something difficult, they know to tell me in order that I may assist them and overcome that particular hurdle.
When I am tutoring at GCSE and adult level, I also endeavour to make the sessions motivating, but ensure they are more student-lead and will scaffold the sessions but find tutees have more success when they are able to be guided rather than dictated to.

Personal Description:
In 2005, I graduated from The University of Reading with an upper second class degree in English and History of Art: my modules included 10 Shakespeare plays, Renaissance Women's Writing, Modern Drama, and my dissertation was based on the myth of Pygmalion in Literature and Art.
I completed my teaching qualification in 2008 and am now qualified to teach English to secondary aged students. I love reading Shakespeare plays and my lifetime ambition is to read all his works. I also enjoy going to the theatre, playing tennis and regularly write poems and prose in my blog, so I can pass this enthusiasm for reading and writing onto students.

Teaching Experience:

I specialise in teaching 3-16 year olds English reading, writing and conversation.

Preschool - I am currently teaching a 3 year old boy and a 3 year girl the first stages of reading and writing.

Year 1- I teach reading, writing and conversation to a 5 year old boy.

Year 2 - I am preparing a 7 year old boy for his key stage 1 exams.

Year 6 - I prepared an 11 year old boy for this Key Stage 2 exams, by studying past papers and teaching him successful exam techniques.

Year 7 - 2 mixed ability classes, where I taught the poem 'Boewulf' and the play, 'Smith'. I also taught a creative writing module.

12 year old student - I prepared this tutee for her 12+ grammar school exam. This student was consequently offered a place at the grammar school of her choice.

Year 8 - 2 top set classes, where I taught advertising, Shakespeare and poetry modules.

Year 9 - 1 lower set and 1 top set class, where I prepared students for the Shakespeare, Reading and Writing SATs papers.

Year 10 - 1 middle set group - 'Romeo and Juliet' GCSE coursework.

Two adult ESOL tutees - I taught them English grammar and conversation.

Tutoring Approach:

I am a patient tutor, who has high expectations and always gets the best out of her pupils, so they progress to achieve their full potential. I love talking about language and Shakespeare, and this passion for English is evident in my tutoring lessons. Similarly, I am fascinated by history and historical events and this interest comes across in my teaching. Overall, I am an enthusiastic, gentle and caring tutor, who helps students become confident about the subject they are studying. I am also ambitious for my students and push them to tackle challenging tasks to become more intelligent individuals. I tutor adults and children, so I am flexible in my approach and easy to talk to.

Personal Description:
I am now only accepting online students due to time constraints.
I'm a 40 year old documentary researcher for the BBC. Its my job to meet new contacts on a daily basis and as a result I'm outgoing and extremely personable. I have to Research new subjects from scratch in order to make informative programmes therefore I can take any subject matter and work hard to have a good understanding of it in a very short space of time. Much of the subject matter I learn is Science based.

I really enjoy teaching people new things, especially helping Students to understand subject that they have always found difficult. I understand that everyone learns in different ways and that one method of teaching doesn't work with everyone. By getting to know peoples personality, I can discover the individual ways in which they learn. This is so important in forming relationships with Students and finding out the best way I can help them to understand new subjects.

I'm patient and good humoured and am good at making people feel relaxed in my company however I will push to ensure that the students take their work seriously.

Teaching Experience:

6 years home and online tutoring students aged from 12 upwards in coursework, essay/report writing, exam revision and preparation. Tutoring sessions include tips in how to maximise exam marks.

3 months tutoring children in basic numeracy and literacy in the Philippines.

Tutoring Approach:

Its my daily job to take complicated information and unravel it so that it can be conveyed in simple terms and understood by people of all ages.

I can teach a range of subjects in a way that makes them simple to understand and in a style adapted to each student's personality. I'm also skilled at writing reports and essays, particularly understanding all the applied thinking that needs to be demonstrated to gain extra marks.

I love teaching and pass on my enthusiasm to my students. I believe that it's essential to build up the pupil's confidence in their own ability to learn in order for them to become more interested and approach learning in a more focused way.

I always supply the students with extra Q&A revision papers so that they can continue learning outside tutorials.

Personal Description:
I am 23 years old and I am in my final year at The University of Manchester where I am studying French and Italian. I have spent 6 months in Bologna in Italy, working in a private language school for those wished to learn either Italian or English. I worked as a copywriter for the school website, working in French, Italian and English. I also worked as a conversation tutor to those who wanted to learn English. I am now waiting on my results for a recognised qualification, a C1 CILS exam. In the same year, I lived in Paris for four months where I worked at ELLE, the well known women's fashion magazine, where I used solely French. I am very down to earth and my biggest passion is football, I enjoy a good movie and love a good comedy. If you feel more comfortable meeting in a neutral place, a coffee place or in the town centre that is fine by me. It is flexible. A clean criminal record and can boast a detention-less education!

Teaching Experience:

I now have teaching experience and I have shadowed those who have done this for a job. I have worked voluntarily in a school teaching beginner's Italian. Having already worked as a conversation tutor in a private school, I feel I would excel in giving private lessons, given the chance.

Tutoring Approach:

I feel every student works at their own pace, however it would not take me long to work out an approach which would realise the full potential of the tutee. I am patient and I can sympathise that learning a new language or topic can be frustrating.

Personal Description:
My name is Michael and my students usually call me Mickey. I am a qualified Maths and Mandarin teacher.I have finished my master degree from University of Southampton with distinction, PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education (Mathematics)) from UCL and I also finished my undergraduate study with first class degree from University of Southampton as well. I was working as trader assistant ( yellow jacket ) in a top bank before changing to become a maths teacher. I have over six years experience in primary, entrance exam, GCSE and A-Level maths tutoring. I am always passionate for tutoring and I know how to make students' learning process enjoyable. My strong reputation has been built on my ability to improve my students' varying skills, ability and exam skills. I have unrivaled patience and understanding and I am able to bring the best maths tutoring experience to my students. I also have set up my own website with helpful maths resources for my students.

In 2011, I attended 3rd Mandarin Teacher Training which was held by Chinese government in London and I have also gained Qualified Mandarin Teaching Certification which was awarded and admitted by both Chinese and British government. (Original Copy on request). I am also a member of British Mathematical Association (BMA), London Mathematical Society (LMS), Association of Teachers of Mathematics (ATM) and British Society for Research into Learning Mathematics (BSRLM).

For your peace of mind, I am Enhanced CRB checked. The Enhanced CRB Check Certificate (done in August, 2014) is available upon request.

Teaching Experience:

Currently I am working as a Maths and Mandarin teacher in a college. I am also working with many Tutoring Agencies as five star rated tutor like Top Tutors,Galaxies Learning and Delta Tutors. Unlike other tutors, I only teach limited number of students to ensure quality. My A-Level students successfully entered top universities like LSE, Warwick University, Imperial College and other elite Russell Group universities. Other students successfully got through entrance examination to top independent schools like City of London School, North London Collegiate School, Channing School and Merchant Taylors' School.

Education:

University College London (UCL)
Postgraduate Certificate in Education (Mathematics) (PGCE)

University of Southampton
MSc. in Accounting and Finance (Distinction)

University of Southampton
BSc. in Accounting and Finance (First Class)

Tutoring Approach:

Quality is everything for me. Apart from the highest teaching quality I am pursuing, my rate is also competitive as I was a student, I know how important it is to have someone to help at reasonable price. However, the normal rate is usually high. For me, I only charge reasonable price.

Recent International Student Assessment (ISA) shows that Chinese students ranked best in the world at maths ( UK is ranked 28th for maths, Source: google "Shanghai students ranked best in the world at maths and science", The Telegraph). As British Chinese, I can tell you the secret of Chinese learning maths. I have a unique method of tutoring which can be adapted whatever the skill level and also unique exam techniques. But my first objective is to target my students' enthusiasm for the subject so they will be passionate to learn mathematics. Practice is also essential for learning maths, but a good tutor knows how to design different questions for effective practice. Finally,I usually believe that learning is a continuing process and if I am honored to be your tutor, I can not only help you learn the knowledge, but also master the art of learning until one day, you will be able to help others like I do.

Personal Description:
I worked in professional legal practice for over 30 years in the area of litigation.

I have also been involved in academic research in a number of areas, given evidence to several Parliamentary Committees, and work part time undertaking advice work in my area of expertise. I have a teaching qualification. (PGCE [+16])

Teaching Experience:

I have over 20 years run many training course in relation to legal based subjects and continue to do so throughout England and Wales.

I have experience specifically but not limited to property law. housing law, residential landlord and tenant law, constitution and administrative law and social welfare law. I previously was a lecturer and module leader at the University of Salford and recently have assisted level 4-6 students with tuition.

I have very positive feedback from students. for example one level 6 law student who was due to submit a dissertation within 2 weeks and hadn't started after my work with him stated, ""...I got an upper second on the dissertation...I'm over the moon…Thank you honestly wouldn't have done it without your help encouraging me and giving me your critical feedback.."

Tutoring Approach:

I am very flexible to my approach to tutoring adopting an academic approach adjusting for the particular student needs in accordance with good teaching practice. My approach is very analytical so as to establish initially where the student has problems and to assesses their strengths and weaknesses. I developed lesson plans for each session of tuition which typically last for two hours dependent whether it is on-line or in person.

I use the philosophy of deep learning and constructive alignment to achieve the aims of what the students seeks to achieve from the tuition. I have a professional and sympathetic approach but at the same time use critical analysis to enhance learning by the student.

I can travel but if the distance is above 20 miles I will require travel expenses in addition to the fees. I can on that basis travel up to around 60 miles but this is open to negotiation. I also undertake on line tuition.

Please note I provide academic support. I do not and will never write the work for a student as this is plagiarism.

Personal Description:
I am a native speaker of Spanish with many years of experience in teaching the language to children, young people in their GCSE and A Level courses, and adults who want to learn Spanish for business or holidays. I have a very interactive and friendly approach to teaching. The structure of the courses is very clear from the beginning but, ultimately, the content and the pace of the lessons is always determined by the students. The emphasis is on having good fun while learning, and a lot of the material used in the lessons is original. As a native speaker, I always make sure that the learning experience also includes cultural aspects of the country. I am absolutely sure that you will enjoy the courses.

Teaching Experience:

I am a qualified teacher of Spanish and a native speaker of the language. For the last 19 years, I have taught Spanish at different Secondary schools in Kent. I have also taught the language privately to adults wanting to learn or improve their command of the language for business or holiday purposes, and also to young people wanting to improve their chances of a good GCSE or A Level grade in Spanish. I am an examiner for AQA and I have taught Spanish GCSE and A Level courses for Edexel and AQA for many years. So, I am very familiar with the course contents.

Tutoring Approach:

The lessons that I teach are always interactive and practical. Students dictate both the content and the pace of the lessons and the aim is always to make the learning experience enjoyable. I use plenty of original material in my lessons. For example, if you are an adult wanting to improve your Spanish for holidays, we would reproduce in the lessons the situations that you would normally find yourself in while on holiday in Spain or any other Spanish-speaking country: greeting people, ordering food and drink, finding your way around, buying things, travelling around, asking for help, socialising, etc... As a native speaker, I always make sure that the learning experience also includes cultural aspects of the country

From 2005 to 2006 I taught in a variety of Primary and Secondary Schools before taking a permanent post at Matravers School in Wiltshire where I worked for five years, gaining internal promotion to Second in Department in 2010. During my time at the school I taught classes from Key Stage 3 to Key Stage 5 (ages 11-18) and prepared students for both GCSE and AS Level Exams, getting good results as can be testified in my reference.
I also lead trips to both Paris and Barcelona to give students a taste of life in these countries and an opportunity to practise their language skills in real life situations.
Since 2011 I have been working as a freelance Language Tutor and Translator as well as completing Teaching contracts with reputable language schools Kaplan International and OISE in central London. I also work for AQA marking French GCSE Writing Papers. I am currently studying for a Masters Degree in Technical and Specialised Translation at The University of Westminster in Central London.

I aim to make my students feel at ease and safe to take risks and build their confidence which in turn lead to learning success. I tailor-make lessons to each individual student's learning needs and preferences so that the student is always at the centre of the learning process.
