Personal Description:
I am a recent graduate of Leeds University and an ongoing postgraduate student at Exeter University. Having completed my GCSE'S/ A levels only a short while ago, I am eager to share knowledge/strategies on gaining high grades.

I have been working in Education professionally for the last 6 or 7 months, predominately as a teaching assistant but also helping struggling students.

During my time, at University I was involved with a charity, which organised English lessons to refugees, this has provided me with a foundation , for further work in Education.

Personal Description:
I am passionate about working with young people and helping them to achieve their potential. In 2005, I graduated from The University of Reading with an upper second class degree in English and History of Art: my modules included 10 Shakespeare plays, Renaissance Women's Writing, Modern Drama, and my dissertation was based on the myth of Pygmalion in Literature and Art.

I did 15 days teaching placement at George Michele Secondary School that TDA selected me for SAS programme. Personal Description:
Hello, I'm Laura, I'm 19 and I'm currently studying for a degree in BSc Chemistry. I feel I am an enthusiastic and self-motivated person and I like to think that I push myself to the best of my abilities, I hope that I would be able to encourage others to do so. Many people also say that I'm very patient, I think that this will help a lot when people need extra help.
In secondary school being part of a big class means that it was hard to get attention from the teacher, therefore I know what it can be like to be in a class where everyone has different learning styles and would like to think that I can help with this. I feel a tutor can make studying much easier, simply because a tutor can work with the tutee on a one to one basis and find the learning style best for them.

Teaching Experience:
I have helped out at a Primary School local to my Sixth Form where I worked with Year 4 pupils. I worked with pupils of all abilities in various subjects. I feel this helped me to fully understand how each student takes on learning and how to approach helping them.
Also in my Secondary School I was a reading mentor. I had to listen to Year 7 pupils reading, although this only took place once a week I found it rewarding and it helped to build up their confidence as well as their reading abilities.

Tutoring Approach:
I am a patient and I like to try and encourage people to push themselves. I would like to think that I have a good approach towards tutoring in that I would challenge students so that they can progress as much as possible without making them feel as if its a chore. I think its most important that the students want to learn because they know it will benefit them in the long term.

Personal Description:
My name is Iona, I'm currently studying my HND in Acting and Theatre Performance at Edinburgh's Telford college and hope to do my BA Hons degree next year. I've studied Theatre, Philosophy, Music, English, German and Spanish, and this year I am also touching on dance and vocal skills.

I've done a JCSLA course whereupon I learnt how to teach and work with young people in a learning environment. My placement involved me doing an hour a week of teaching dance in a local primary school, where I learned how to interact with the children and work with them to incorporate their ideas and get the best results we could.
In my HNC course last year I had classes in how to run a drama workshop, and I've experienced hands on many youth theatre workshops and had lots of practice in drama games and exercises.
Last year I also tutored a student through Higher (AS Level) Philosophy.

Tutoring Approach:
I'm a very friendly girl and I like to make the learning environment as relaxed as possible, as I think this produces the best ideas. I'm quite interactive and hands on, and I like to use a lot of the student's own ideas and develop these, rather than spoon-feeding them, as I think in creative subjects, students flourish more with their own originality than with forced direction.
