Personal Description:
I am a passionate, enthusiastic, and supportive tutor who genuinely enjoys helping students build confidence and achieve their full potential. My teaching style focuses on keeping lessons engaging, interactive, and tailored to each student's individual learning needs. I strongly believe that when students feel encouraged and understood, they are much more motivated to succeed.
As a qualified GP-based pharmacist with experience in both healthcare and education, I bring patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills into my tutoring sessions. Over the years, I have continued to develop professionally, completing postgraduate studies including my Independent Prescribing qualification and postgraduate training in Primary Care Practice. Alongside my clinical career, I remain passionate about mentoring and supporting young learners academically.
Having graduated from University College London (UCL) and completed further postgraduate studies at the University of Bath and the University of Hertfordshire, I understand the challenges students face and aim to create a positive learning environment where they feel comfortable asking questions and developing confidence in their abilities.
I was honoured to receive the Royal Pharmaceutical Society's "Pre-registration Pharmacist of the Year 2017" award, which reflects my dedication, work ethic, and commitment to excellence, qualities I also encourage in my students.
I tutor primarily from home, where I have access to a large whiteboard and a wide range of up-to-date learning resources, including materials tailored to the current GCSE 9-1 curriculum and exam-style questions. I also offer lessons online and at suitable local venues such as libraries.
My goal is not only to help students improve academically, but also to help them become more confident, independent learners who enjoy the process of learning.
Teaching Experience:
I have over 10 years of experience tutoring Maths and Science up to GCSE level, working with students from a wide range of backgrounds and abilities, including children with additional learning needs. Over the years, I have developed a patient, supportive, and adaptable teaching style that helps students feel comfortable and confident, while also encouraging focus, discipline, and academic progress. I believe creating a positive and encouraging learning environment is key to helping students reach their full potential.
As a mother, I also understand the importance of tailoring teaching styles to suit each child's individual needs and learning pace. Teaching and supporting my own children has further strengthened my patience, creativity, and ability to make learning both engaging and enjoyable.
Alongside private tutoring, I have experience working within educational settings, including teaching at an Arabic school, volunteering as a Maths assistant within the community, and supporting children within a primary school environment. I have also worked at Kumon and First Class Learning, teaching Maths and English to children of various ages and abilities. These roles helped me develop strong techniques to keep students motivated, engaged, and focused throughout lessons.
In addition to tutoring school students, I have extensive experience mentoring and supporting trainee pharmacists and pre-registration pharmacists preparing for their GPhC exams and clinical practice. Through my own professional journey as a GP-based pharmacist, independent prescriber, and primary care clinician, I am able to provide practical guidance, exam support, and mentorship to pharmacy trainees navigating both the academic and clinical aspects of the profession.
My professional healthcare career has further enhanced my communication, mentoring, and interpersonal skills, allowing me to build strong rapport with students and support them in developing both confidence and independence in their learning.
Tutoring Approach:
I tend to use a variety of methods when teaching, depending on the child and their needs, focusing on their age and what their syllabus requires. I am capable to do quick summarised revision sessions, as well as long term lesson plans. Either way I ensure that the student is always given homework and stays revising. If appropriate I also do small mastery tests at the start of each lesson which consists of a five minute recap test, so the student is required to have revised the previous lesson well. Obviously if they struggle with the homework or mastery test, then the lesson plan's pace is adjusted to meet the child's level. This helps to ensure that the student masters each topic before moving on to the next.

Personal Description:
I am an experienced Law Lecturer with 10 years' experience in teaching undergraduate and post-graduate law programs in leading UK Law departments. I have a PhD in law, with a specialism in International Financial Law, and hold a Masters degree (Distinction) from University College London (UCL).
My current tutoring interests include:
- the English Legal System,
- Constitutional/Public Law,
- Administrative Law,
- EU Law,
- Criminal Law,
- Contract Law
- Banking Law and Regulation, and
- Regulation of Financial Markets.
- International Commercial Law
- International Sale of Goods Law
- Principles and Policy of Regulation
- International Trade Law
- International Investments Law
I also tutor LLM and PhD students in related areas of law.
My tutoring entails assisting students not only with the content of the course, but also the structure of discussion and argumentation in essays.
Teaching Experience:
I have taught English Legal Systems, UK Public Law/Constitutional and Administrative Law, Contract and Criminal Law since 2014. I have also practiced law for over 6 years, with a strong background in constitutional and human rights litigation, and also corporate and commercial law.
Tutoring Approach:
I have tutored students from different top universities across the country, through face-to-face and skype sessions.
My approach entails identifying the student's learning priorities, and also certain learning areas that the tutoring session can strengthen. I use the student's syllabus structure and material to guide the learning session for each specific module.
I have found skype sessions as very productive for both the students and I, as we save on travel time, and have the benefit of a lot of material that we would otherwise be unable to drag around to a neutral meeting place. I find that the students are also more comfortable and in control of their learning, where they are in a familiar environment.

Personal Description:
I'm looking forward to taking on some new students!
I have a very strong grasp of English, as shown by my first class degree in English language and literature from Oxford University. I also work as a freelance copyeditor and proofreader, often helping writers for whom English is a foreign language. Because of my background, I am particularly good at teaching English for academic purposes, and teaching writing skills, but I will be happy to focus on whatever you want to learn.
Teaching Experience:
In 2019, I graduated from a CELTA course (Cambridge Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages). Since then I have also taken courses in Teaching English Online, and How to Teach IELTS. In summer 2019 I taught at International House and Oxford Intensive School of English (OISE). I also started teaching freelance 1:1 in that year. In 2020 and 2021, I was employed as an Assistant Professor at Heriot-Watt University, teaching an online pre-sessional course in English for Academic Purposes. I did a similar job in 2022 at Coventry University.
Tutoring Approach:
I will ask you about your learning needs so I can plan and prepare lessons to suit you.
I particularly enjoy communicative and task-based teaching, where you learn by speaking and listening, reading and writing about things that are important to you, and you practice for real-life activities using English. I can help you gain the vocabulary, grammar, and skills you need for all this.
I can take students from all around the world. While the pandemic continues I will be teaching online only. (Otherwise, I would also teach in person, in Bristol, UK).
I teach adults (age 18 and above).

Personal Description:
Hello, my name is Peter. I am a Geography tutor based in Belfast. The vast majority of my tutoring is online and I therefore have the experience and resources to ensure this works for you. However, I also tutor from home if this is what you prefer. Originally from Belfast and graduate of Queen's University, a Russell Group University, I moved to England once I finished my undergraduate degree. In doing so, I enrolled at the University of Reading to train in my Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE). Once I completed my PGCE, I began teaching in a state school in Sandhurst three days per week. I have been tutoring for over ten years.
Teaching Experience:
First and foremost, I am a Geography teacher in a secondary school that is performing above the national average. I specialise in getting weaker students up to good grade by teaching them the structure they need in longer written answers. I also focus on the best methods to revise and retain information.
Tutoring Approach:
Every student will have a different approach to learning. It is therefore important that in our first lesson we sit down and work this out. You might be more visual, aural, kinesthetic, etc. Getting this right will ensure your tutoring lesson will benefit you greatly.

Personal Description:
I have an excellent ability to analyse pupil's needs in a preliminary session as well as in the ensuing teaching which enables me to create a teaching plan to support any weaknesses or extension that may be required. I can do this quickly and capably.
I have a range of teaching styles and skills that I can use to differentiate between the needs of the different key stages and to engage with pupils according to their personality. Where appropriate, I like to use practical materials to reinforce concepts if necessary.
I can extend pupils beyond the average expectation to higher, or I can support through concepts that need understanding in order to attain average expectation.
I am extremely organised and efficient. On the other hand, I can be flexible and fluid, depending what style might be needed for the individual pupil.
I have a huge bank of tried and tested resources both in my head, on computer and on paper. I am always keen to find new ways of supporting pupils, tailored to their favourite topics and hobbies where possible.
I am a good listener so that I can understand the concerns and important issues of parents/carers and the pupil themselves.
At the same time, I am confident in being able to talk to families about their needs and issues.
I am studying on an extended creative writing course with the National Centre for Writing affiliated to the UEA.
I have two adult children and 7 grandchildren whose ages range from aged 3 to aged 12. I am often called on to help their understanding of English and maths concepts or to help them with their humanities projects.
I have a comfortable, spacious home where teaching can take place. Parents are always welcome to sit in on any sessions providing it doesn't affect pupil behaviour.
I have travelled within all seven continents (yes, including Antarctica!).
I love reading and all different kinds of music and dance. I love nature, particularly birds.
Most of all, I love working with children and I love teaching.
Teaching Experience:
I have been teaching for 40 years in a variety of settings ranging from areas of poverty and social deprivation to academic private schools. I have worked in large city schools with over 300 pupils and village schools with 40 pupils.
I have worked with all year groups from Reception to year 6.
I have been responsible for maths throughout the whole school and acted as deputy and head of school when needed.
I ran a British Council Comenius project where I worked with schools in Poland and Northern Spain. This involved visits, taking year 6 pupils to Warsaw and Oviedo.
Over the last 15 years, I have been working on a one-to-one scheme where I work with individuals or groups within the school setting in supporting and extending pupils' abilities. I have been successful in helping schools to attain above average scores in KS2 SATS and in building confidence for the future as well as supporting children with anger management needs.
Prior to that I worked in the Junior Department of Norwich High School for 17 years.
I have a current DBS and can provide references where needed.
Tutoring Approach:
I have covered a lot of my approach in the paragraph above "About Yourself" as I feel that my teaching and my personality and interests are pretty much entwined!
I would like to add that my approach is one of flexibility and understanding based on huge banks of experience.
I can coach to a higher than average level or support where the building blocks have been missed.
I have no problem in supporting pupils with challenging personalities and adapting my teaching style to meet their needs.
Apart from providing the necessary teaching concepts, I offer a sense of humour, dedication, acute awareness of needs and hope to provide confidence and instil a sense of exciting, extension and pleasure in learning.

• "My boy got a 9 at GCSE maths... 100% recommend!" - Annie K
Tutoring Approach:
I focus on clarity, confidence, and progress. My sessions are tailored to each student ... I take time to understand how they think, where they get stuck, and how to build from there. My lessons are interactive and encouraging, with a strong emphasis on breaking down tricky concepts into steps that just make sense.
I've also developed a unique 'Belt System' ... inspired by martial arts....which turns GCSE maths into a structured journey of achievement. It helps students visualise their progress and take pride in every step forward. Many students arrive thinking maths is a subject they just have to get through .... they leave realising it's something they can actually feel proud of....

Teaching Experience:
I have enjoyed a varied career in law and criminal justice, and have over five years of experience in tutoring. This has included National Probation Service trained tutoring in accredited courses, lead tutoring on an award-winning course for the Trafford area teaching psycho-social and employability skills, and even, for over two years (inspired initially by the Pandemic!), teaching English, one-to-one, online to students of all ages and from all over the world. I am now a dedicated tutor in my subject specialism of Law.
Tutoring Approach:
Tailored, one-to-one support in Law, specialising in A Level. I tutor exclusively online (so no need to be local!) and classes are typically one hour in duration. I truly believe revision and examination techniques are skills in themselves and as such, can be developed to often significantly improve grades.
I have a friendly and empathetic style. I enjoy helping students to simplify the complex, adopt a methodical approach to application scenarios and evaluation questions, and to feel calm and confident approaching exams. It is my hope that all of my students feel a sense of satisfaction, achievement and enjoyment as they develop their knowledge and understanding of what is an often challenging but fascinating area of study.
