Personal Description:
My degrees are BSc and MSc in chemistry from University of Belgrade and PGCE from University of Bath.
Before tutoring I taught science and chemistry at secondary and at university levels. Apart from teaching, I have been marking A-level papers for OCR board.
For a number of years I have been offering on-line tutoring which I found as successful as conventional tutoring.
At the beginning of my career as a chemist I worked in research and I have wide experience of practical chemistry which is useful when discussing chemistry practicals with my students.

Teaching Experience:

2003 - now Tutor for A-level Chemistry with Bath Tutors.
2006-2012 On line tutoring for Fleet Tutors
2006-now Assistant examiner for A-level Chemistry for OCR A
2004-07 Examiner for KS3 Science for AQA and Edexcel

Tutoring Approach:

My main stand is to convince students that chemistry is interesting, useful and doable at any level.
I always start with a 'get to know' meeting where I learn about student's expectations and his/her abilities/problems. I show them what I could do for them and we agree about general approach and a broad timetable. I don't charge for this meeting.
For students who are retaking modules main approach is going through exam papers and discussing problems, repeating parts of the syllabus, adding notes and examples with learning about exam technique as well. With students who want tutoring as soon as they start A-level chemistry I support work done in school in terms of more explanations and additional examples, help with homework and advice about practical work, until student knows enough to start doing exam papers.
Apart from exam papers I use Exam Pro type data bases for questions of all major exam boards, Curriculum press, Topic Cue Cards, various textbooks, Chemistry Review and the Internet.
For on-line teaching I use WizIQ software. To get some idea about possibilities of software for on-line tutoring please type WizIQ into your browser and explore. The software enables me and tutees to speak, write, and use prepared material so on-line lessons are hardly different from one-to one teaching.
To all of my students I email materials needed for lessons, so access to PC and the Internet is essential. Printer and access to scanner are essential for on-line tutoring.
I have in depth tutoring experience of OCR A, OCR B, AQA, Edexcel and IB chemistry syllabi. My experience of Scottish Highers syllabus is somewhat limited.
The prices are: A Level Chemistry at my home £27.00/session; sessions are never shorter than 1 hour and mostly last longer (depending on student's time).
On-line tutoring starts with 'get to know' meeting including agreed short chemistry topic to show the possibilities of WizIQ software. This session last about 1.5 h and I don't charge for it. Further tutoring cost is £25/session of 1.5 h.
I support students who are doing foundation chemistry courses at university level.

Personal Description:
I am an enthusiastic mathematician with an ability to communicate well. I have a first class degree in Maths and Chemistry. I would like to help students by either guiding and supporting them in their exam preparation or by developing their confidence and increasing their skillbase in maths.

Teaching Experience:

I have been working in a large comprehensive school in Leeds teaching 11-18yrs for the past seven years. I have experience of taking students through SATs, GCSEs, and A-Levels both in school and in private tuition with excellent results. In addition to this, I am an examiner for AQA and Edexcel exam boards, marking Alevel papers. As such, I am very well qualified to help students develop a more effective exam technique that maximises their marks.

Tutoring Approach:

I give one hour or two hour lessons which can either be in support of, and running along side, the student's school work or individually tailored lessons covering specific areas of weakness which students find particularly helpful in preparation for exams.

Personal Description:
I am a friendly and approachable musician, songwriter and singer. I have been involved in music for many years in solo, group and large ensemble capacties. Among many music courses I have attended, my training includes a Diploma in Popular Music Performance at the highly commended Tech Music School in London, and a Fist Class Honours degree in Music Technology with Popular Music Performance.
I have been fully CRB checked to work with children.

Teaching Experience:

I have been teaching since 2001, mainly primary and secondary aged students. This was primarily performance based tutoring at weekend classes including some one to one sessions. I have done this in both Norfolk and London. I have also taught many one to one singing lessons with all ages between 6 and 65.

Tutoring Approach:

I like to tailor my tutoring to each individual students needs rather than using set lesson plans. My teaching style is based around enjoying the learning experience. I like to engage with my students on a personal level to the extent where the learning is a bi-product of the session without it feeling like hard work. I have found this to be a very popular technique that keeps students interested in the subject and looking forward to the next class.

Personal Description:
I'm a 29 french man. I have been living in the UK for over 2 years now. Before, I lived in Paris for 5 years and
in different cities all over France. I was born and grew up in France. I studied in French universities
and I'm a passionate of French language and culture. I'm pedagogic, patient and enjoy sharing my
knowledge. My different experiences (professional and personal) have given me a lot of ideas to
create and develop lessons adapted to different learners, levels and in a friendly environment.

Teaching Experience:

I started teaching French to primary school children after school when I was a student. I was a
Police officer in Paris and my timetable was really variable so I was able to teach French during my
free time. Within the Police Institution, I was a tutor for a police school for 4 years and I taught
French criminal law for policeman. On my free time I taught French to English adults (beginners and
advanced levels) for 4 years in Paris. I supported different people and always adapted the tuition to
the learner.
I have been teaching French to all levels in the UK from beginning to business level for 2 years now.
Apart from this, I am also a table tennis coach and taught table tennis to young children
and adult for several years and a football coach.

Tutoring Approach:

I used to divide lessons into two parts :
- First part : pronunciation, communication skills, French grammar
- Second part : discussion about cultural course about France and the French society or based on articles, world's event…. The student can use his knowledge in an unformal situation.

This is of course a basis and I can manage lessons according to student's needs and expectations. Lessons can be organized in different way.

Personal Description:
Unlike many, who kind of drift into teaching, because they couldn`t think of a job they wanted to do, I made a change of career after 20 very successful years in the computing industry. I was doing very well developing computer software, but I wanted to do something which was a little more sociable than staring at a computer screen all day, and I felt that helping young people learn would be a worthwhile use of my time. So, teaching maths seemed like a good idea, especially as I`ve always enjoyed the subject. This is my main subject, though I also teach physics and chemistry.

As well as teaching I have published three maths books, available in hard-copy and kindle versions. One at GCSE level and two at A-level.

Teaching Experience:

My experience is a bit different from most UK teachers. Sure, I`m UK qualified and have taught in England, but I`ve also taught in New Zealand, Germany and Italy. For me (and for you) this is a huge plus, because the standard of teaching is better abroad. People mistakenly think that getting a teacher with years of UK experience is the best strategy. Nothing could be further from the truth! You will probably get someone with good behavioural management and admin skills, but it will be at the expense of their subject skills. I`ve taught across the entire 11 to 18 age range and at all abilities from struggling 11 year old students to top set 18 year old students. I`ve taught in all-boys schools, all-girls schools, mixed schools, FE and sixth form colleges. This has been at schools that get good results!

As well as A-Level, I`ve taught IB Diploma: at both Standard and Higher Levels (also Mathematical Studies). This has been mainly maths, but also some physics and chemistry. I`ve given intensive revision courses in Standard Level Mathematics, and Higher Level Mathematics, which were very well received. Once again, I would have to say that IB Diploma is more demanding than A-level - on both the student and the teacher.

So, whether you need help with Core, Further Maths, Mechanics, Statistics, or Decision Maths, I`ve got the recent experience teaching all of these. In addition to maths, I have recently tutored A-level physics and chemistry too. This has been across several exam boards: Edexcel, AQA and OCR.

For maths students, I can help you get the best out of your graphics calculator (all senior maths students should have one), which, despite what your school might tell you, is allowed and will give you an advantage in your exams. On this point, you might like to note that I have published a book about using the TI-Nspire, for those taking GCSE or IGCSE. And I have published two such books for A-level students: one for statistics, and one for mainstream maths.

Among the schools whose students I have recently tutored are: Dame Alice Owen`s School, Enfield County School, Enfield Grammar School, Highlands School, Hockerill Anglo-European College, Princess Helena College, Southgate School, St. Michael`s Catholic Grammar School, The Latymer School, The Royal Masonic School for Girls, and Woodhouse College.

Tutoring Approach:

I`m typically very informal and relaxed, which most students seem to appreciate.

When you come to me, you get to choose what you want help with. Unlike far too many tutors I won`t try to tell you what the lesson should be about, unless this is something you want me to do. In fact, some of my students have been known to ask for (and receive) help in maths, physics and chemistry, all in one session.

Personal Description:
I'm currently studying History of Art with Philosophy and Arabic at UCL university in London. My passion has always been Art whether studying it or creating Art, or visiting art exhibitions in London. What most inspires me is the way that Art is rooted in a deep historical tradition of culture, style and politics. Two of my paintings from A level are currently displayed on the Saatchi Art Gallery website. I love teaching too; sharing my knowledge, past experience and helping others younger than me succeed confidently and reach their potential in their upcoming exams. I've had work experience in various Art/Fashion based fields.

Teaching Experience:

At school I have enjoyed encouraging and guiding younger students with their stressful art coursework as an Art and Product Design mentor and a Textiles prefect. I have also tutored Maths and English to family friends for their 11+ entrance exams and GCSE exams.
I am currently tutoring GCSE students in History, Art, English and R.S. I'm also tutoring Maths, English and Art to 8-11 year old children.

Tutoring Approach:

I enjoy teaching, I'm very patient and open minded. My approach to tutoring is conversational in a relaxed atmosphere. I understand how stressful Art or Textiles coursework can be as I've been there myself countless times throughout secondary school and sixth form. My approach to teaching Art is based on what the student wants. I can be their "second teacher" and guide them through it, help them with ideas or help with artist research/analysis. I can also teach them techniques in painting or various other media as it's important to experiment and show different skills. We can visit exhibitions. I'd give them insight and suggest which artists to look at. I have a lot of my old art coursework to look through which may help.

For subjects like History, Religious Studies and Maths, I cover a topic/area per lesson. I can go past the hour if I had to with no charge as I don't like stopping abruptly without finishing the topic. I have various ways of teaching History. I can explain and help understand the topics through Powerpoint presentations, I'd provide resources, past notes and tips on how to approach, write and structure an essay. I like to give short tasks/exercises for the next lesson to keep track of their progress and understanding.

For English, I can help children work towards their 11+ entrance exams. For GCSE, I'd be useful in helping them with texts such as, 'Of Mice and Men' or studying/analysing poetry. I have notes/essays that could help too.

Personal Description:
Hiya!

I'm a Law student who has been tutoring for more than a handful of years!
With vast knowledge in the subjects that I specialise in, I only think its best to give back to others.
I have achieved well in GCSE and A Level English, Maths and Politics; hence the chosen field.

Teaching Experience:

Personal Tutor including private tutoring from 2009 onwards 2014

Tutoring Approach:

My aim as a tutor is to help my students have understanding and confidence, when answering exam questions as well as being able to tackle new and unfamiliar problems. I cover the topics required, and work particular on the weaknesses that my students identify. Regular practice in the subject also helps me identify where the student needs more help. My approach varies on the student's needs as well as their learning style. Overall, I want my students to perform very well, and its amazing to watch them flower!
Recently a student of mine went into his exam with extreme confidence, and texted me 'I have learnt so much since you have started tutoring me, I feel very confident in the exam I just sat. Thank you once again'.

Personal Description:
I am a second year student at Reading University studying Mathematics, who is active, organised and reliable.

Teaching Experience:

During my two years of sixth form, I was the sole student studying Further Mathematics AS. As such, I had to help my peers from different years with their studies.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to tutoring is that I must first recognise where the student is having problems, and then to tackle these gaps in their knowledge with my help.

Personal Description:
My name's Danielle and I am 23 years old. I graduated from the University of Central Lancashire with a First Class Bsc Honors in Nutrition, Exercise & Health in July 2012. Since graduating I spent a year working at a Blackpool Primary School, assisting with teaching and after school club activities. I have lots of experience working with children age 4-11 years old. The last 18 months I have spent in Australia working for a private medical practice which was the second largest in Australia. I worked within the finance department and also shadowing the nutritionists as they treated their own clients. During my time there I gained valuable experience working within a clinical healthcare setting, also working with a variety of clients from different cultures and ethnicities. I have confidence in speaking to groups of people in presentation format, a skill i enhanced during my time in Australia. This i take into my approach to tutoring. During my time in Australia i tutored my younger family members throughout there final years at high school. I tutored Maths, Biology and English but have a vast knowledge of P.E and sports science in particular nutritional science.

Teaching Experience:

I worked for a year at a Blackpool Primary school where i enhanced dramatically my knowledge and skills working with young children. I gained one on one experience working with children aged 4-11 years old. I have the confidence and patience required in order to work on this basis with children of all educational levels. I have experience mentoring and tutoring young adults through their high school years.

Tutoring Approach:

I am an extremely patient and understanding young individual. I have a relaxed and gentle approach to teaching and mentoring as i feel you don't get very far adopting a strict approach, especially where young adults are concerned. In order to work as a team there has to be a level of respect no matter what the age difference, therefore i deem a soft friendly approach far more successful. I like to build a friendship with those i tutor/mentor as past experience has proven this the most effective method (regardless of age).
