MY TUTORING SCHEDULE IS FULL UNTIL CHRISTMAS:
I AM HAPPY TO TAKE ENQUIRIES FOR TUITION TO START AFTER THE CHRISTMAS HOLIDAYS

I have been working in Education for a number of years, supporting children across the Primary curriculum in main stream schools. I have worked with children on a one to one basis helping them to catch up to government standard levels in Mathematics and English, using a variety of 'catch up' programs. I have also worked with gifted children, helping them to improve and prosper in their studies.
I am currently formalising my work experience by taking a Primary Teaching degree and earning qualified teacher status. I also study Literacy at degree level through the Open University.
In addition I am also educated to advance level in subjects including Geography and History and am confident in supporting students at various levels in these subjects.

Teaching Experience:

I have worked one-to-one in schools supporting Mathematics, English and Science as well as foundation subjects across the Primary Curriculum. I have worked with Gifted and Talented children, children who need some support to catch up or understand concepts and also supporting children with Special Educational Needs. SEN children I have supported include children with Down's syndrome, Autism, global delay and behavioural difficulties. I also support children who have English as an additional language (EAL).

CURRENT TUTEES/ TUTORING EXPERIENCES:
My current tutees include: Y2 Boy extra support with Maths; Y4 Boy, extra support with Maths; Y3 Boy, extra support with Maths; Adult Male- retake of Geography A Level (via distance learning); Sixth Form Female, English and English Literature A Levels suppoort; Y8 Girl, extra support across the curriculum due to missing school for personal reasons.

PREVIOUS TUTEES FOR 1:1 TUITION
My previous tutees have included: Year 6B, extra help reading; Year 6B, more challenging Mathematics; Year 5G, extra help in Mathematics; Year 2B extra help in English (EAL) (With extra sessions in Maths and Science in preparation for SATs); Year 2G extra help in Mathematics; Year 11G Booster in English GCSE; Year 2B, English.
I am able to provide written or verbal references from any of my tutee's parents if requested.

****Special Educational Needs tutoring: I am very happy to work one-to-one with a variety of needs. I have SEN teaching assistant experience, have worked in MENCAP, Sheffield and also have an NVQ Level 4 in Learning Disability Support.****

Tutoring Approach:

One-to-one or group (max. three) in any specified subject area. Through quizes to identify weaknesses and continuous assessment to show improvements in learning. For example, in mathematics: I will identify weaknesses, support a subject development by providing the student with methods to solve problems, guide them through a variety of 'problems' and games using these methods and showing the pupil how they are progressing.

I believe every pupil has a different learning style, e.g. some children enjoy reading, whilst some prefer making things and using pictures and objects to help them remember. I will use techniques suited to the individual child to help them progress, whilst also preparing them to access their written tests and exams if applicable.
