Personal Description:

I work as a freelance writer, editor, author and of course tutor.

As a freelance writer, I produce content for blogs and magazines. Articles range from author interviews and literature reviews to music feature pieces. Working as an editor has enhanced my knowledge of the English language. I edit both fiction and non-fiction and work with a variety of authors.

Finally, I am a young adult fantasy author and co-director of a small publishing company. I run writing workshops through my website and take them into schools as well.

Aside from my work, I enjoy baking, playing violin, walking and spending time with my family and friends.

Teaching Experience:

I specialise in English Literature and Creative Writing but also teach English Language, essay skills and entrance exams. I have 1000+ hours of experience working with students aged seven and upwards. Alongside 1:1 sessions, I have experience running English and Creative Writing workshops both online and in schools. I work with ages seven and upwards, mainly covering Primary and Secondary levels, but occasionally teaching degree, ESL, and adult learners.

All my lessons are conducted in a stress-free environment where pupils are allowed to ask questions. As a trained Montessori tutor, I take a creative approach, teaching students to love English whilst still fulfilling curriculum objectives and ensuring grade targets are met.

Tutoring Approach:

I am an enthusiastic and patient teacher with a passion for English. I care about nurturing, encouraging, and inspiring pupils with their English studies and am a firm believer that every student has the potential to succeed.

All my lessons are conducted in a stress-free environment where pupils are allowed to make mistakes and ask questions. I take a creative approach, teaching students how to love the subject whilst also fulfilling National Curriculum objectives.

Having worked as a private tutor, workshop leader and teaching assistant, I feel comfortable teaching in classroom, home, and online environments.
