Information About Jake:
Personal Description:
Hi. I'm Jake and currently in year 12 of Sixth form. I take Sociology, Psychology and English Literature. In my GCSEs I got grade 9s in both english subjects which were on the high end of the grade 9 boundary. I love English and I want to go on to become an English teacher in a secondary school eventually. For English Literature I did Romeo and Juliet, Blood Brothers and A Christmas Carol as my GCSE books but have studied and have knowledge of Macbeth, Inspector Calls, Jekyll and Hide and Lord of The Flies. Even if there is a book I havent studied, I'm able to adapt and teach all the same.
Teaching Experience:
I currently help teach pupils in year 7 who are underachieving in english, e.g students with English as a second language or dyslexic students, voluntarily at my school.
Tutoring Approach:
I have a calm, relaxed approach to teaching as I believe stressing out about work isn't useful to students. While I aim to go through basics of what is necessary to get a grade 4-5, I also aim to teach the more unorthodox methods which stand out to examiners and help to get your childs grade higher.
