Natalie - Liverpool tutor
Information About Natalie:
Personal Description:
I am in my final year at Durham University studying mathematics. I thoroughly enjoy working with children and believe I have a friendly, approachable personality which makes me able to communicate with children of all ages. In my free time I enjoy playing hockey, sailing and attend chinese lessons.
I am able to tutor remotely over zoom providing children with extra work to keep them stimulated over these prolonged periods of time. I can tutor individuals or groups.
I think it is very important that children of all years, but in particular those with exams in the next year as well as entrance exams. Therefore, I am there to provide this additional tuition and concentrate on your child's needs.
Teaching Experience:
As part of one module at university, I taught maths weekly at a secondary school for children between the ages of 11-18.
In recent years, I have delivered a maths lesson to a year 8 class, which proved to be very enjoyable for both the students and I. I deliver weekly lessons to year 7s at Blue Coat and I am currently tutoring year 11 latin students in preparation for their latin GCSE. As well as this, I have a younger sister who I regularly help with homework. I am also currently tutoring several students, many of which are being tutored for the Blue Coat entrance exam.
Tutoring Approach:
I believe the key to success for anything in life is
1) to have the necessary knowledge
2) to know your own personal weaknesses and also knowing how to go about fixing them
3) to have self-belief and confidence about whether you can succeed
I am here to provide a positive environment for students so that no question is a stupid question and to help students achieve their very best potential. Unfortunately in schools nowadays, teachers may not have the time to check that every single individual student understands everything they have been taught so I am able to teach and revise 'fuzzy' areas so that students feel both confident walking into an exam and knowing they have tried their very best to reach their potential. The most rewarding thing about being a tutor is seeing students' self-satisfaction and personal development.
