Information About Rebecca:

Personal Description:

I am a Drama and English Graduate from Cambridge University, and have taught at Secondary level since graduating. I am passionate for both my subjects (which is important when teaching!) and have explored them through both academic and practical routes; I write and direct, as well as read and teach. Although I'm very confident with most literature and drama, I particularly love Shakespeare, 20th Century prose and Modern Drama since 1900.

During my degree I also studied Film, and I continue to study History.

Teaching Experience:

I have taught at Secondary level in the Private sector for two years, and in that time taught Drama from Key Stage 3 up to A Level. I have tutored English privately, and during my time at University I also taught writing skills.

I studied Education during my degree, and have a sound understanding of the process of teaching, and learning.

Qualifications:
9 GCSEs, all at A* and A; 3 A levels in English Literature, History and Theatre Studies, all at A; Drama And English BA from Cambridge University, 2:1.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe the most important element in learning is confidence, and I focus on developing and nurturing this in my tutees. Although a patient and relaxed tutor, I strive for understanding and excellence from my pupils - as well as enjoyment! Style of learning is entirely focused upon the individual student, and can vary from very aural based discussion, to activities, visual or practical learning.

Before getting started, I would hope to have a chat with the tutee and their guardian about what they would like to focus on, which areas need developing and, most importantly, how they feel they learn best. Once we've established this, we can work on a tutoring programme that fits!

Qualifications:

• 9 GCSEs at grades A* and A
• 3 A-Levels in English, Theatre Studies and History, all at grade A
• BA (hons) Drama and English with Education Studies, 2:1
