Personal Description:
I am a fully qualified English teacher with recent experience of Secondary and Sixth Form teaching at various schools in the region. I graduated from Oxford University with a 2:1 in English Language and Literature. I have a thorough subject knowledge which I can apply to help pupils of all ages and abilities make progress.
Teaching Experience:
I have experience teaching English and English Literature at various schools throughout Sussex over the past few years, from Key Stage 2 to A-Level. I therefore have an in depth knowledge of the demands of the National Curriculum and exam syllabi, and can quickly diagnose a learners' needs and the steps needed to take them forward and make progress in the subject. I also have experience in teaching pupils with a range of special learning needs.
I have also spent time as a Language Assistant in France, so I can also offer lessons in French up to GCSE, as well as History, my second subject.
Tutoring Approach:
I believe that effective learning and progress in a subject can take place only when a pupil feels engaged and enthusiastic about their learning and comfortable in their environment. I therefore always place these conditions at the centre of any learning experience.
After taking an initial assessment of the students' current working level, I design a course that is individually tailored to meet their particular needs. My track record shows that pupils consistently make real progress, but importantly, they enjoy their learning
