Personal Description:

I have a BA Hons degree from Trinity College, Dublin in English Studies, a Masters in Modern Literary Studies from Queen's University, Belfast and a doctorate in nineteenth-century literature from Queen's University, Belfast. I also have a TEFL certificate from the International Tefl College of Ireland.
Literature and Theatre are my passions and I love to share those with my students in the hope that others will attain the degree of enjoyment, not to mention exam results, that I already have.



Teaching Experience:

I have been a teaching assistant in Queen's University, Belfast for the past two and a half years teaching everything from Beowulf and Chaucer to Kurt Vonnegut and Tennyson. I have also experience as an a-level tutor and taught English in India in a secondary school.



Tutoring Approach:

My approach to teaching is one of enthusiasm and engagement. I hope to inculcate an enjoyment of the subject at hand in order to encourage a willingness to learn. However, I am also firm and am resourceful in my efforts to find the best ways to tutor each individual student as I am aware that everyone has different needs and everyone learns in different ways.
