Personal Description:

I am a 26 year old newly qualified teacher who has just moved back to the Nottinghamshire area with my family upon the successful completion of my BAEd[Hons] degree in Primary Education and English. The university course has allowed me the opportunity to meet and facilitate the learning of a great number of children, and I have experience of teaching all subjects at primary level [ages 5-11]. I am a fun, enthusiastic teacher and I aim to make my lessons as engaging and relevant as possible at all times. I have a particular passion for the teaching of english [both literature and language] and have a wide knowledge of different phonic and reading programmes.

Teaching Experience:

During the university course I was able to spend forty-four weeks in a variety of primary schools, this experience spread across the four years of the BAEd. These schools catered to many diverse children who had a range of different needs and levels of ability, and I was given the opportunity to teach whole classes and year groups during this time. Upon the completion of my final year teaching practise I was offered further employment by my host school, who have employed me for the last six months as a floating supply teacher working in all their classes from reception through to year 6.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe that I am an open and friendly teacher who aims to place the student and their needs at the centre of the learning experience. By assessing the needs of the individual child I am able to then tailor a curriculum or series of lessons which best matches their learning needs. I find that I can relate well to the children in my tutelage, and often tailor lessons to include topics or areas that they may have a pronounced interest in - this often helps the children to engage more readily with a subject and can improve their results on the whole.

Qualifications:

• BAEd[Hons] Primary Education with English; The University of Reading
• Biology, Chemistry and English Lit. A-levels
• 10 GCSE's; all passed A*-C grade
