Freya - York tutor
Information About Freya:
Personal Description:
I am nineteen years old, and this means I have great familiarity with the current syllabuses for economics and sociology, having recently completed my A-levels. I also have a fresh knowledge of exam techniques and revision tactics. I am currently studying Philosophy and Politics at the University of York.
I was home-schooled for a number of years, and therefore appreciate the difference between a good and a bad tutor, and have investigated different methods of learning.
I have some limited experience with physical and mental disabilities through Riding for the Disabled (RDA).
Teaching Experience:
I have taught various subjects at primary level in Kenya to a range of age groups.
I have completed a course in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL).
Tutoring Approach:
I know that information will not be absorbed unless it is interesting and relevant. I therefore follow a very individual approach, as everybody has different styles of learning. I believe that information should be presented in such a way that it is easily absorbed, through making learning engaging and memorable.
I deal with problem areas, making information accessible and, dare I say, interesting!
