Personal Description:
Fully bilingual in English and French. Experience of living and working in UK and France. Excellent people skills and interest in people and helping them develop their language skills.
Teaching Experience:
I have taught French and English from false beginners to advanced levels. I have done private tutoring in both languages in France and the Netherlands. I have also taught a universities in the UK and am currently teaching part-time at St Andrews and at the language centre of the University of Glasgow. I have used different teaching materials, for instance OU courses as well as BBC language courses. I tend to mix different resources and formats: written texts, audio documents, exercice books.
Tutoring Approach:
First of all I enquire about the specific needs of the pupils (areas of interests, as well as the main difficulties in acquiring language skills). I then adapt the content of the lessons to each individual's needs, this may entail going over homework, re-examining an exercise or texts studied in school. I try and adapt the content for each person according to their age group, level of proficiency and personal needs.
