Information About Stuart:


Personal Description:

I have a passion for science, maths, ICT, and for learning (my own and others). I have a keen interest in psychology, and therefore SEN and in particular EBD teaching and learning.

I enjoy swimming, yoga, cycling, volleyball, and sports generally. I have a 1 year old daughter who keeps me busy when I'm not working.

Year 5 teacher @ Outstanding Primary School in Brighton. 06/09 - Present

Supply teaching - Brighton - 09/08 - 06/09

Private Tutor - teaching one 13 year old with severe EBDs, in Switzerland. 04/07-08/08

Class teacher Crawley Primary School - Year 5 - 09/06-04/07

I qualified as a Primary teacher from a SCITT course in 2006. I taught Year 1 - 6 during my training.



Tutoring Approach:

Build a working relationship based on trust and respect.
Find out as much about the individual as possible. (learning styles, interests, problem areas, etc)
Tailor the individuals learning based on their strengths and weaknesses. i.e. use areas of strength to build confidence in weaker areas.
