Personal Description:
My name is Anna. I am French and have been living in the UK for four years now. I have much experience working with teenagers as well as teaching French to people of very different ages.
Teaching Experience:
I did a PGCE in French with Russian a couple of years ago and worked in a secondary school as a French teacher, subject leader and Head of Department. I had to leave my job to relocate to Newcastle and have decided to make the most of the occasion to start working as a tutor.
I have also worked as a French assistant at university in Dublin so have experience working with more advanced learners too.
Tutoring Approach:
I believe there is not just one way a language should be taught as every learner is different. I therefore always adapt my teaching style to a student's needs. While some people need a structured approach to grammar and syntax, others thrive on using languages in real situation, or simply on playing educational games.
Being a native speaker, I will help you gain the right pronounciation and use the right vocabulary and phrases.
Having previously worked in schools, I am familiar with exam requirements (eg. Edexcel, AQA, OCD,etc) so can therefore focus on the relevant points according to a student's needs.
