Personal Description:
I am a 40 year old mother of two teenagers aged 15 and 17 years. I am originally from st Lucia, West Indies and I have just completed a full time course at the Open University leading to a PhD in Education.
Teaching Experience:
I have taught in the Caribbean for 12 years and have taught in Britain for three years. In Britain, I have taught Religious Studies, Mathematics, Sociology and History at the secondary level and sociology at a level. I have UK teaching qualification status and I am presently registered with the General Teaching Council. I have also worked on a part time basis doing supply work at various primary. I have completed a course with the Milton Keynes Council on one-to-one tutoring and has consequently worked as a One-to-One Tutor at a local primary school. In addition, I have worked as a SEN Tutor at a Residential Home in Wood End Buckinghamshire.
Tutoring Approach:
I take an individualized approach to learning. Students will be be involved in their learning as they can influence the way in which they learn best. Students learn in their own unique way and I would endeavour to cater learning to meet the learning needs of students. I will also be involved helping students to answer examination based questions. Help will also be given in dealing with home work or projects to be done to enable the student to make much progress in their learning.
