Katherine - Worcester tutor

Information About Katherine:

Personal Description:

I am an easy going people centred individual. I would class myself as organized and dedicated to teaching. My hobbies are the theatre, cinema, swimming and travel I have two adult children one at university and one who has just finished. I would prefer to tutor from home as it would fit around my families needs, but I feel it would also be better for the student as I have a quite room where all resources are also easy to hand.

Teaching Experience:

I have been teaching for eleven years mostly in further education in three large colleges in the midlands. I do however also have some school experience. I am Happy to teach adult literacy skills or key stage two and three English and also GCSE English and can support coursework. I have also held a managers post in education and have been a senior personal tutor to many students over the years, so understand the pressures of needing to achieve English to support other courses.

Tutoring Approach:

To plan students needs - schemes of work
To find out exactly what the student needs to learn
To progress on plans in a methodical fashion
To structure learning evaluations so progress is logged
To set specific targets in conjunction with learner's needs
To discuss progress with parents if applicable
