Personal Description:

I am an experienced professional, I have a degree in accounting and economics, my CIMA professional qualifications and a PGCE teaching qualification that is taught at level seven. This theoretical knowledge is supported by eight years industry experience running my own business and I have spent time in several accounting departments.

This knowledge and experience is integrated into my teaching ensuring that the lessons are interesting and easier to understand. My background enables me to explain theories in many different ways ensuring my pupils understand, I believe that it is essential to integrate practical knowledge with the theory to deepen the understanding, and retention of the subject.

I have excellent subject knowledge in accounting, economics and business related subjects and use a huge range of methods to ensure your individual learning style is taken into account.

Teaching Experience:

I have taught in the further education sector on level three BTEC courses, adult education courses, access to higher education and professional qualifications. I have taught all ages from fourteen to fifty years of age.

I have tutored teenagers for their GCSE Maths for many years and have a 100% success rate in my pupils achieving their qualifications. I have tutored students for both professional qualifications such as AAT and adults for HND courses, I have an excellent track record for success in these areas.

Tutoring Approach:

I can change my tutoring style to match your needs, I will either concentrate on areas that you are having problems with or work through the whole curriculum to ensure a thorough understanding has been achieved.

Generally I like to use questions, activities and examples to ensure you understand the topic. I have found that starting by assess the level of your understanding and then moving on from there produces the best results. I like to work in conjunction with your course so we are covering the same work at the same time, this improves understanding. However I will vary my methods to whatever suits you best.
