Amy - Holborn tutor

Information About Amy:

Personal Description:

I am very friendly, well-organised, reliable and can easily get along with children, young adults and adults of all ages. I have been teaching for 6 years and have a lot of experience with one-to-one and group tuition. I have excellent communication skills and can effectively deliver the teaching material. I have several private tuition jobs and have very good relationships with all my students. I have many hobbies, some of which includes playing piano and badminton.

Teaching Experience:

I am currently a part-time private tutor. Most of my students are doing GCSEs and ALevels but some are also younger children and adults. I am very familiar with the current GCSEs and A-Levels exam systems and I am able to give lots of advice on studying skills and help students to not only gain marks in exams but also understand the concepts that are taught and widen their knowledge. I can vary my teaching styles and the materials I teach so that students can clarify the materials taught at school and learn extra to stand them out amongst their peers. I am always able to help my students with any problems that may arise in the subjects. I have also had experience in teaching students with dyslexia and autism.

Tutoring Approach:

I have different approaches to tutoring different students as they all learn in a variety of ways. I am very flexible with my teaching style and try my best to accommodate most needs and requests. I always make learning fun and involve my students as much as possible. For older students I treat them as adults and deliver the information in a way that is easy to understand and condense complicated material into ones that are simpler and more concise to learn from. I like using diagrams and scenarios to reinforce important knowledge whenever necessary. I believe that practice makes perfect so I always give students questions both during and after lessons.
